Mallorca Vacation Package With Nothing Fixed
A Mallorca vacation package that books beds and a car and then stops. Seven nights in the Serra de Tramuntana with no guide, no group and no timetable to keep.
What nothing fixed means here
- Hours already spoken for
- Zero on six of the seven days. The only hours already spoken for are about 40 minutes at the car counter on arrival and roughly an hour driving back, so under two hours across the whole week.
- The earliest you must be somewhere
- 9:20 a.m., once, on the final morning, to get the car back and be at the airport for a midday flight. No other morning of the seven has a time attached to it.
- The longest stretch that is yours
- About 160 hours, from the afternoon you park at the house to the morning you leave it. Nothing inside that stretch is booked by anyone.
- Who chooses where you eat
- You do, every single time. There is no guide and no fixed running order. The road book suggests places and parking; it does not schedule anything.
- What happens if you skip a day
- There is nothing to skip, so no money comes back. The house is paid for all seven nights whether you sleep in it or drive to the far side of the island, and the car sits at the door either way.
- Who this shape of day does not suit
- Anyone who would rather not drive. The village roads are single lane with drops and no barrier, and without a car the week shrinks to one bus a day. It also suits nobody who wants the days planned for them: you get a book of options, not a schedule.
The last row costs this company bookings and stays on the page anyway. A shape of day that does not suit you is far cheaper to find out about here than on the third morning.
Inside the per person figure
- Seven nights in a stone house in a village in the Serra de Tramuntana, two people sharing, one bathroom, no elevator, and 31 steps between the parking space and the front door.
- A small hatchback for the whole week, unlimited mileage, a second driver added at no cost, collected at the airport when you land and left there when you go.
- A road book we write ourselves: nine drives with parking notes, six swimming coves and the point where the road runs out, four cycling loops from 22 km to 78 km with the climbing given in meters.
- Bread, coffee, oil, salt and a bowl of fruit in the kitchen on arrival, so the first evening does not start with a supermarket run.
- One number to call if the house loses water or a mountain road closes. A person answers it in US business hours and calls the village on your behalf.
- A written note on which of the four village kitchens open on which nights, checked in the month you travel rather than last season.
Left out on purpose
- Flights, priced on their own: roughly $620 to $980 per person round trip from the east coast in May and September, higher through June.
- Every meal. Two people eat well in the village for about $60 a night, and much less if you cook.
- Fuel and parking. Budget $70 to $90 of fuel for the week, plus about $22 a day if you leave the car in Palma.
- Bicycle rental. A road bike runs about $28 a day from the shop down in the valley. We will hold one; you pay the shop directly.
- Insurance of any kind. We do not sell it, arrange it or advise on it.

You settle with the operator, through whatever system they run. This site gathers nothing and no card ever arrives at this company.
Months that work and months that do not
Late April to the middle of June is the stronger of the two windows. Daytime sits around 72 to 80 F, the sea turns usable in the third week of May, and the mountain roads are dry. The second window runs from mid September to the end of October, when the water is warmer than it was in June and the villages have emptied again.
July and August are the months to stay away from. Inland temperatures reach the mid 90s F, the coast roads back up for two or three hours every afternoon, and the coves you came for are full by 9 a.m. January and February are cheap and honestly bleak: 55 F, long rain, and about half the village kitchens shut.
Two other weeks I would talk you out of. The week on either side of the April holiday weekend puts the house rate up by roughly 30 percent and fills the single mountain road with day traffic. And the last week of March through the first week of April belongs to cycling clubs; the climbs are busy from 8 a.m. and beds in the valley are hard to find at any price. If the bike is the point of the trip, come in May or October instead.
Still open when you confirm
Four decisions get settled when you confirm a Mallorca vacation package on real dates. Which of the three villages you sit in: one is 20 minutes from the north coast, one is 35 minutes from Palma, one has the only bakery open on a Sunday. Whether the car is manual or automatic, since automatic costs about $14 a day more and has to be held six weeks out. Which week, because the house runs Saturday to Saturday and moving by one day means a different house entirely. And whether we hold bikes, in what frame size, and from which of the two shops that will deliver up to the village.
